Baby care | 3-18 months
In the safe nest of our baby room, our smallest little family members get the attention of a loving carer with years of experience with the tiny ones and an assistant for every 5 infants.
Hygiene and safety is of utmost importance in the baby room. With a lot of care we help the little ones to establish a healthy eating, drinking and sleeping routine.
We understand the importance of quiet and calm time for babies to rest and wind down
But when its fun time, WE HAVE FUN!
What do we focus on?
Physical development
- Tummy time: Encourages babies to strengthen their neck, back, and shoulder muscles, which are important for crawling and walking.
- Crawling and rolling: Provide a safe space for babies to move around, roll over, and practice crawling.
- Soft toys and play mats: Allow babies to explore with their hands and feet, improving fine and gross motor skills.
- Stretching and movement: Gentle exercises, such as stretching their limbs, help develop flexibility and body awareness.
Cognitive development
- Sensory play: Introduce toys with different textures, sounds, and colours to stimulate sensory development. Items like soft blocks, rattles, or textured balls can be great for exploration.
- Interactive toys: Simple toys that engage babies, such as stackable blocks or soft books, help improve their problem-solving abilities and hand-eye coordination.
- Music and sounds: Playing soft music, nursery rhymes, or using musical toys enhances auditory development and rhythm awareness.
- Peek-a-boo games: Helps babies understand object permanence and enhances cognitive processing.
Social & emotional development
- Our staff will respond immediately to babies’ cries, facial expressions, and babbling to build secure attachment and emotional security.
- Group time: Even though babies may not play directly with one another, observing other children in the same environment helps develop social awareness and early interaction skills.
- Cuddling and comforting: Physical touch is important for emotional bonding, so holding, hugging, and comforting babies when needed is crucial for their emotional development.
Language development
- Talking and singing: Our caregivers will talk, sing, and narrate activities to babies, even if they don’t understand all the words yet. This helps in language development and familiarizes them with speech patterns.
- Reading aloud: Reading simple books with bright pictures and few words helps babies get accustomed to the rhythm of language.
- Repetitive sounds and words: Introducing repetitive songs, rhymes, or words helps babies learn to recognize patterns and sounds.
Sensory stimulation
- Exploration with hands and mouth: Allow babies to explore safe objects by touching and mouthing them, which is a natural way they learn about their environment.
- Visual stimulation: Provide toys with bright colors and contrasting patterns to stimulate visual development.
Babies will be changed and cleaned regularly throughout the day.
